The Vacuum Tube explained
For we of the 21st Century the vacuum tube is a mystery.
Page 4 declares the obsolescence of the Klystron Tube (from Forbidden Planet?) and then goes on to the history of the development of vacuum tubes in general.
How envious they would be of our Transistor and Integrated Circuit! (They might object to the name though)
Not mentioned is the Magnetron, the tube that won the Battle of Britain and is still hiding in your kitchen.
